Summer term has started in Inkersall with exciting news for the school.
After months of thought (and sketching) in school, a new logo has been selected. The ‘oak leaf and acorn’ design was chosen from amongst a number of alternative designs developed by Spencer Academies Trust Graphic Designer.
Possible designs included a squirrel motif, local landmarks, and leaf designs celebrating the school’s ‘GROW’ curriculum.
Inkersall children were consulted on the design, with one Year 4 student saying, “I liked the squirrel but I thought the oak leaf would be best on my jumper.”
Time will tell – as the new designs are now being translated into a spring jumper collection.
Similarly, Inkersall’s new website has been developed as a resource for children and parents across the school. The website has the same address – www.inkersallprimary.co.uk – but with a clean new look, and lots of new ways for teachers to share news and information about learning in school.
Spencer web developer Natalie Middleton, who worked on the website, said: ‘Inkersall’s first website will always have a special place in the hearts of parents who used it. I like to think we’ve kept the things that worked, while giving the website a bit of a spring clean. And I’m really excited about all of the news and events we will be able to share here!’
Parents are encouraged to check back regularly for the latest calendar events, community updates and pictures. And don’t forget to tell Mrs Bailey what you think!
